Muirshiel Centre (Adult Day Care) was established in 1991 as a local charity (Registered Charity No sco18185) and ismanaged by a voluntary Board of Directors who represent our local community. The Centre’s day to day operationsoverseen by a service manager supported by a staff team of professionally trained individuals dedicated to thecare and support of our service users. We are committed to providing a quality, responsive day services thatmeet the needs of older people with support needs residing in East Inverclyde (Port Glasgow).
The Centre caters for a wide range of individuals including those who are frail / elderly, those who are sociallyisolated, are living with dementia, anxiety or depression, learning disabilities or those with mentalill-health.
The role

The Assistant Manager has line management responsibility for a range of roles in day care including leading ourexperienced team of support workers, so some leadership and/or management experience will be beneficial.
You will have experience of working with older people. A minimum of an SVQ level 3 or equivalent or progressing toSVQ level 4 is essential as well as a willingness to undertake continuous professional development leading tosatisfying SSSC Managers of Adult Day Care Service registration requirements.
In addition, you should have strong IT skills and excellent communication skills and a full driving licence with a D1entitlement.

Care and Repair Edinburgh (CRE) is an independent charity who have been serving Edinburgh’s older and disabledcommunity since 1985 and regularly complete over 6,000 jobs every year in homes across the city.
CRE offer a range of practical services to help older and disabled people repair, improve or adapt their property sothat they may remain independent at home for as long as possible.
The Charity is a financially stable and viable organisation and has gone from strength to strength particularly overthe past 5 years.
We are now looking to recruit a new Chair and additional Trustees with an range of skills and experience to supportthe direction of the organisation. Candidates skilled in Third Sector Leadership, Business Management, Finance,Marketing and Social Media, Charity Law, Social Care or Reablement would be of particular interest.
CRE welcome candidates who do not have Board experience as full induction and training will be provided.
As a Trustee, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, control and accountability of the Charity ensuringthat its activities are in the interests of its beneficiaries. Trustees are also responsible for confirming theorganisation complies with its governance, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation orregulations.
The board meets quarterly in Edinburgh (February, May, August and November), either face-to-face, via video chat, oras a hybrid of the two plus an additional AGM. Aside from the quarterly board meetings, additional timeconsideration is required to allow for reading of relevant papers, follow up on any action points, and attendingoccasional additional meetings, events, or strategy days. The average total time commitment is approximately 1-2days per month for Trustees and 2-3 days per month for the Chair.
As a voluntary position, Trustees are not paid but travel and other expenses for attendance at meetings arereimbursed in line with CRE policy. As a local, inclusive charity we are keen this diversity continues to bereflected in our Board.
Do you have experience as a gardener or horticulturalist and have a passion for growing fruit and vegetables andinspiring others? This is an exciting opportunity to join a new project that aims to actively improve the healthof children and their families, and their understanding and interest in the environment and biodiversity. Theproject will span four Primary Schools in Rosyth. Where children will learn and participate in their schoolssowing, planting, growing, harvesting, tasting, and cooking fruit and vegetables. They will take this learninghome – growing and cooking and eating fruit and vegetables at home.
You will join an Education Officer and a Project Support Officer and be supported by the General Manager of EATSRosyth. The gardener will lead on the planning, creating and maintaining of the growing spaced in the 4 RosythPrimary Schools. Example of some of the main duties will include:
* Work with the Education Officer and schools to design and create the growing spaces.
* Prepare the growingaspects of the project, with the Education Officer, and plan to meet the agreed timescales of the educationprogramme.
* Maintain the growing spaces within each school and manage the soil fertility, crop rotation,sowing, irrigation, pest and disease control etc.
* Prepare for the education programme lessons so thatthe Education Officer has the necessary equipment and materials ready to use with the children.
* Workwith the Project Administrator Officer to support how the project is communicated, for example takingphotographs for promotion on social media.
* Involve families and carers in the project and work with themthrough out.
