About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our growing team within the plant and construction equipment industry. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and construction machinery at customer sites.
The successful candidate will be a skilled engineer with strong diagnostic abilities and a proactive approach to problem solving, ensuring machines are repaired efficiently and safely while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, service, and repair plant and construction equipment on customer sites.
* Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and breakdown repairs.
* Fault find on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
* Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates and technical advice.
* Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a high standard.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role within the plant, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
* NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent qualification (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
* Experience working on construction machinery such as excavators, dumpers, loaders, or similar equipment.
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
Desirable Skills
* Manufacturer training or certifications.
* Experience with modern diagnostic tools and telematics systems.
* Welding or fabrication skills.
