A Patient Access Team Lead is an administrative professional who checks patients in for various procedures, surgery and emergency room visits, processes patient paperwork, manages billing and provides customer support to patients visiting the hospital. Patient Access Team Lead are often well-organized, quick-thinking and excellent communicators. Their job involves managing patient paperwork, validating insurance, explaining forms and insurance policies to patients. Patient Access Team Lead will assist Care Team Members and Patient Access Supervisor as needed. Team Lead will also cover call and supervisor duties as assigned. Although registrars aren't clinical medical providers, they play a key role in keeping hospital operations running smoothly, ensuring patients receive the care they need.
