The discipline area is actively engaged in knowledge exchange projects and has an active applied research agenda.About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our team as an Associate Lecturer in Zero Carbon Engineering. Along with your research work this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our nuclear engineering programs, particularly as part of higher degree apprenticeships. You will need to be aware of the expectations for apprenticeship delivery which link work-based learning with academic learning. You will need to engage with employers on your teaching to ensure it is aligned with the sector expectations. You will also be encouraged to work with Rolls Royce and the supply chain to build on existing research capabilities for the area.The typical teaching time table runs 08:00-17:00 with most of the scheduled teaching currently at Markeaton Street campus. There may be a need to teach in other locations for some clients.Research labs and facilities are based around the same site.Join our dynamic team and make a significant impact on the next generation of nuclear engineers! Your actual hourly rate is £16.51 per hour. The rate of £41.29 includes 1 hour of teaching time and 1.5 hours of prep/marking/admin.About YouWe are seeking an Associate Lecturer with, or working towards, a PhD in a relevant discipline, alongside a degree (or equivalent professional experience) appropriate to the level of teaching required. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, developing industry-aligned course materials, and supervising student projects.You will have experience using online learning environments as either a learner or tutor, and be able to deliver effective teaching and facilitate learning at an appropriate academic level.
