- Government Programme £800 per day | Hybrid (2-3 days onsite in Newcastle) | SC Clearance Required Sanderson Government & Defence is proud to be supporting a key government client in the search for a highly experienced Lead SAS Developer to join a major transformation programme within a central UK public sector organisation.
The Opportunity As a Lead SAS Developer, you will take ownership of designing and delivering complex data integration and software solutions within a large-scale, multi-team environment.
Acting as a subject matter expert, you will lead from the front-guiding technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring best practice across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and enhance SAS-based software solutions across enterprise systems Lead the implementation of robust ETL pipelines and data integration processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration Take ownership of technical decision-making and contribute to programme-wide strategy Conduct testing, debugging, and optimisation to maintain high-quality deliverables Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices Skills & Experience Required Advanced expertise in SAS Data Integration Studio Strong experience in custom application development and software engineering principles Proven capability with SAS DataFlux ETL tools Experience with SAS Event Stream Processing (highly desirable) Demonstrated leadership experience within complex delivery environments Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Essential Requirements Active SC (Security Clearance), or eligibility to obtain clearance Ability to work onsite in Newcastle 2-3 days per week Why Apply?
