Sales Marketer
Company: Smarta Energy – a leading UK–based digital energy consultancy focused on innovation and sustainability for business energy consumers. Location: East of Leeds, commutable from Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, York, Huddersfield, Manchester, Stockport and North Yorkshire areas. Employment Type: Full‑time, Permanent.
We are looking for a proactive, sales‑focused marketer who thrives on results. You will sit within the marketing team and work closely with sales and business development to generate high‑quality leads, support conversion and ensure every marketing activity drives the bottom line. This is not a brand‑awareness role – it is about building and moving the pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and execute lead‑generation campaigns for specific target sectors.
* Write compelling sales copy, emails, LinkedIn messages and outreach content to support the sales journey.
* Create and refine conversion‑focused assets – sales decks, case studies, pitch support, landing pages.
* Collaborate with Sales to understand pain points and refine messaging accordingly.
* Use CRM and automation tools to track, analyse, and report on campaign ROI and lead behaviour.
* Support webinars, follow‑up communications and campaign nurturing sequences.
* Stay up to date on energy‑consultancy trends and customer behaviour to shape messaging.
Requirements
* Proven experience in sales‑focused marketing, ideally in energy, utilities or B2B consultancy sectors.
* A strong commercial mindset – focus on outcomes, not just output.
* Excellent written communication skills, particularly persuasive and concise copy.
* Familiar with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.
* Comfortable analysing data and adjusting campaigns based on performance.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with sales and marketing.
* Eligibility to work in the UK and the ability to commute to Leeds and surrounding areas.
Desirable
* Knowledge of public sector procurement and frameworks.
* Experience with LinkedIn outreach and paid campaign strategy.
* Understanding of energy savings, NetZero targets or compliance issues influencing purchasing decisions.
* Knowledge of energy services and their value to B2B customers.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales and marketing.
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and marketing techniques.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel).
