Michael Page Finance is partnering with South Yorkshire Police to recruit a Finance Officer to join their finance team. This role involves supporting Management Accountants by providing key financial information and serving as a primary contact for first-line financial queries.

Key Responsibilities
1. Review revenue, capital, and grant budgets in line with departmental timelines, with support from Management Accountants.
2. Identify and investigate variances in revenue, grants, non-pay, current month, and year-to-date figures.
3. Calculate accruals, prepayments, collaboration adjustments, and external recharges; input these into the ledger monthly and at year-end.
4. Conduct year-end duties according to the timetable, ensuring stakeholder awareness of their responsibilities.
5. Reconcile all assets, including properties, vehicles, fleet stocks, and equipment, regularly throughout the year.
6. Complete month-end tasks such as order cancellations, code creation, invoiced receipts reports, and receipt accruals.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who:
* Are qualified or studying towards AAT qualification.
* Have experience in financial environments, including budget control and year-end procedures.
* Can analyze, evaluate, and interpret financial data critically.
* Have experience using computerized financial systems in medium to large organizations.
