Job Summary

To support the Senior Medical Administrator in providing a comprehensive administrative service to the medical teams within the Bolton Adult Community Mental Health Team.

The Medical Administrator will undertake general office duties including the typing of medical and other correspondence, actioning any requirements identified within the typing. They will answer and manage calls from service users and their carers/relatives and other health and social care professionals, book appointments for service users and send all relevant correspondence relating to service user appointments, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.


Main Duties

* Undertake audio/clerical duties for a team of medics and wider MDT team, including minute taking and audio typing of clinic letters and general correspondence to external agencies.
* Be the first point of contact for written and telephone enquiries on behalf of the medical team, using judgement to establish priority.
* Book appointments and manage medics clinic diaries.
* Ensuring accurate and timely recording within the electronic patient record system (Paris).

Responsibilities

* General office duties including typing of correspondence.
* Answer and manage calls from service users, carers/relatives and health and social care professionals.
* Book appointments and communicate with service users.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date data.
* Audio/clerical duties: minute taking, audio typing of clinic letters into the ERP system (Paris).
* Act as first point of contact for enquiries, prioritising effectively.
* Book and manage medics clinic diaries, ensuring timely recording in the electronic patient record.

Education / Qualifications


Essential

* 2 years previous office experience or equivalent demonstrative experience.
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.


Desirable

* IT related qualification.
* RSA / NVQ qualification.


Experience


Essential

* Use of IT equipment.
* Working in a confidential environment.


Desirable

* Medical terminology.
* Contact with patients/service users.
* Experience in a patient administrative background.
* Knowledge of performance and data quality.


Knowledge

* The ability to prioritise and plan conflicting and complex work demands.
