Our client seeks a dedicated Production Engineer to join their team, working collaboratively with sales, production, and quality teams. This role involves quoting for new sales enquiries for complex machined components, generating CAD/CAM programmes, and improving the quality, speed, and efficiency of the manufacturing process. Using engineering principles, technology, and computer-aided software, the successful candidate will design, plan, and analyse production methods and systems, ensuring optimal operation and innovation.
Day-to-day of the role:
Quotation and Programming: Generate detailed quotations and relevant programs for a variety of CNC Machine Tools using Fusion360, including 3 Axis and 5 Axis Milling.
Customer Liaison: Work closely with customers to ensure accuracy in information and quotations, providing technical support and compiling necessary technical documentation.
Production Planning: Plan production methods for parts requiring production engineering, complete process routing sheets, and decide upon the most efficient manufacturing methods.
Operational Support: Provide support to shop floor operatives regarding tooling, fixturing, program amendments, and general processing and quality concerns.
Documentation and Analysis: Generate and store stage and fixture drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD/Inventor) and analyse and improve material usage.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with engineering advancements and discuss potential implementations with management teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Relevant Engineering Qualification with an understanding of machining (Milling/Turning) and materials.
Experience with CAD software and CNC programming using CAM, preferably Fusion 360.
Excellent literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel).
Proven experience in the engineering field with superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to make decisions under pressure with great attention to detail and organizational skills.
Understanding of sheet metal and fabrication is desirable.
