The Role:
The focus of the Fostering Support Worker is to support Supervising Social Workers in their role. This may be completing foster carer supervisions, Back Up Carers assessments and conduct unannounced visits to foster carers. You will maintain up:to:date statutory checks on foster carers, update case summaries and chronologies. There is also the opportunity to work with Staying Put carers who continue to support young people post eighteen and help facilitate foster carer support groups and training.
What you'll do:
In this role, you'll support foster carers and children through direct work, case management, and assessments. You may supervise carers, lead support groups, and respond to duty calls, including visits when needed. Youll be expected to produce high:quality, reflective assessments and work within statutory and corporate frameworks, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Flexibility in working hours is sometimes required. This means you may need to work outside of standard business hours on occasion. However, with support from your manager, you will be able to adjust your working pattern to make sure it fits your home life and still meet the needs of the carers you may be working with.

As you will be working with families across a large geographical area, you must also be able to meet the travel requirements of the role and be prepared to travel within this role.
