The successful applicant will be responsible for managing their own portfolio of private clients, including all compliance matters, administration, and tax planning. The role involves training and reviewing the work of junior staff within the group. Reporting will primarily be to the group’s team leaders and, in many cases, directly to the partners. Candidates will also assist team leaders with group management and have direct staff responsibilities.
The work includes preparing self-assessment tax returns for wealthy individuals, partnerships, and trusts; calculating associated taxes including CGT on securities, chattels, and property transactions; completing estate tax returns; and managing complex tax affairs of high-net-worth private clients with diverse business and personal interests. Experience in residence and domicile matters is desirable but not essential. This position offers a broad range of work for someone with a tax compliance background seeking to expand their experience within a dedicated private client firm with a diverse client base.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Furthermore, candidates should possess confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded, and understand client needs. Prior experience with tax return software, Word, and Excel is expected; knowledge of computerized accounts packages is advantageous. Candidates should preferably be CTA qualified or hold an equivalent qualification.
