As Registered Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:
Acting as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse during a variety of operative procedures such as Laparoscopy, Endoscopy, Trauma emergencies, Orthopaedic, Paediatric, ENT, Maternity, Gynaecological, Ophthalmology, Urology, Vascular and Plastics.
Acting as an Anaesthetic Nurse by assisting the anaesthetist during induction and throughout the aesthetic period.
Monitoring and assessing patients’ clinical condition and taking appropriate action to ensure safety of the surgical patient.
Functioning as a Charge Nurse and a team leader when required. Utilising clinical, hospitals and community resources. Participating in unit Quality Improvement activities and when required, approving research projects.
Functioning as a preceptor/monitor and role model for new junior staff, as well as peers.
Taking active responsibility for professional development by participating in continuing education programmes, keeping current with professional literature.
We’re looking for a Registered Nurse with:
Experience in the role with a bachelor’s degree or Diploma from an accredited institution
Continuous employment/experience in a current Operating Room setting.
Current certifications: CPR, I.V, ACLS preferred.
Experience in Physical assessment essential.
Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies.
Pre-employment substance abuse screening is mandatory for all successful candidates.
