We are assisting on a Senior Associate appointment within a well-regarded disputes practice in Guernsey, where complex cross-border litigation forms a central part of the team’s work. The team advises on high-value disputes across commercial litigation, insolvency and regulatory matters, acting for financial institutions, corporates, investors and trustees. Much of the work has an international dimension, with regular coordination alongside onshore counsel and involvement in multi-jurisdictional strategy. The position offers a genuine step up in responsibility. Matters are managed with a good degree of autonomy, alongside direct client contact and involvement in strategy from an early stage. There is also scope to build deeper expertise within a specific area of disputes over time, supported by a collaborative and well-structured team. Candidate profile: Commonwealth-qualified lawyer with 5 years’ post-qualification experience Experience gained within a recognised onshore or offshore disputes practice Strong grounding in commercial litigation Exposure to insolvency or regulatory disputes advantageous Consistently strong academic background Clear and effective written and verbal communication Ability to run matters with appropriate supervision Commercially aware with a proactive and organised approach Experience supporting or mentoring junior lawyers This is a role for someone who wants to operate closer to the front end of matters, with real input into strategy and client relationships, rather than sitting behind layers of hierarchy.
