Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the NG13 area who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to support a group of children who present with EBD & SEMH
This role is due to start as soon as possible. The job will be on a fixed term contract until July 2024 and the hours of work are 08:30 - 4:00. There is a possibility the role will become permanent for the right person.
The main duties within this role will be:
Providing in class support to pupils who struggle to engage in class
Following the school's behaviour and reward system to engage children
De-escalating situations where challenging behaviour has arisen
Helping children devise strategies to help improve their behaviours
Working on a 1:1 basis with children with EBD
Liaising with the school SENCO around progress of targeted pupils The school are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience of working with children with EBD
Possesses at least one years' school experience
Can build excellent relationships with the children
Is able to engage children in academic lessons
