The Council holds an established property investment and operational portfolio principally comprising industrial, office and retail assets, and with some other miscellaneous assets, valued at c. £300m producing an annual rental income more than £19m. Rental income is a major contributor to the financial sustainability of the Council and the income received significantly exceeds that generated through the collection of Council Tax. Following a reorganisation of property functions and recognising the important role Facilities Management plays within those buildings occupied by BDBC staff we are looking to recruit a Facilities Manager within the Operational Portfolio Team to join a team of property professionals. The Post Holder Must Be Able To Work Well Within a Team Environment As Well As Working On Their Own When Needed. They Will Be Working To Ensure That The Buildings Occupied By BDBC Staff And Other Properties Where Appropriate Are Fit for purpose for staff, customers and members to work and visit Compliant with current regulations e.g. fire risk assessments, fixed wire testing etc Providing a fully functional facilities management service including post and scanning Being able to continue to develop the facilities function as well as forging good working relationships with consultants, internal and external stakeholders’ and colleagues within Regeneration and Property and the wider organisation is vital to this role.
