Gas Turbine Senior Stress Engineer
Salary: £65,000 to £80,000 per annum
Location: Burton on Trent, Glasgow, Bristol, Gloucester, Leatherhead, Manchester, Plymouth (flexible hybrid working)

Responsibilities
* Assess structural integrity of gas turbines using Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
* Conduct strength, fatigue (low cycle and high cycle), creep, and defect tolerance assessments of safety‑critical parts
* Write bespoke software tools to accelerate assessment processes
* Deliver and lead projects across Frazer‑Nash portfolio in defence, energy, and transport sectors
* Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and develop approach
* Provide structured decisions, solve problems, and demonstrate initiative and ownership
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to service development and strategy
Qualifications
* Degree in engineering or equivalent
* Technical knowledge in mechanical / structural engineering domain
* In-depth experience of advanced FEA (cracked‑body modelling, material non‑linearities, user sub‑routines)
* Experience with Abaqus, Ansys or SC03
* Experience in strength, fatigue, creep and fracture assessments
* Experience in technical consultancy, business development, client relationships, project management, leading multi‑disciplinary projects and delivering complex technical work in a commercial environment (advantages)
