Key Relationships

Head of Claims Business Management, the Claims Business Management Team, Claims Team Leadership, and Claims Team Members; through delegated claims administrators, law firms, external auditor firms, regulators (Lloyd’s, PRA, FCA, CBI, CID, California); and Risk, Compliance, Procurement, Operations Resilience Teams and other Beazley departments involved in upstream and downstream processes.


Job Summary

The Vendor Relationship Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end management of key third‑party vendors supporting the claims function (Delegated Claims Administrators, panel law firms, and loss adjusters). The role ensures vendors are sourced, contracted, onboarded, and overseen in line with regulatory standards, company policies and operational objectives. Acting as the primary liaison between the business and its claims service providers, the role balances performance management, governance and relationship development to drive quality claims outcomes, cost control and customer fairness.


Key Responsibilities

* Strategic Alignment
o Understand business priorities; translate strategy into actionable plans.
o Connect across departments (e.g., align with Group Procurement, enterprise‑level initiatives).
* Vendor Lifecycle Management
o Lead sourcing/selection for DCAs, law firms and loss adjusters.
o Conduct due diligence and onboarding assessments.
o Manage onboarding activities, contracts, SLAs, reporting, training.
* Oversight and Performance Management
o Maintain oversight framework in line with PRA, FCA, Lloyd’s, CID, California Solvency II, Consumer Duty.
o Monitor vendor performance against KPIs, SLAs, compliance; produce MI dashboards.
o Conduct audits, file reviews, quality assurance checks.
o Ensure fair outcomes for policyholders, balancing indemnity spend with customer service.
* Contract Negotiation and Management
o Draft, review and negotiate contracts, SLAs and pricing.
o Translate legal & compliance requirements into vendor frameworks.
* Relationship Management
o Primary point of contact; foster collaborative partnerships.
o Facilitate review meetings, workshops, escalation forums.
o Support continuous improvement of vendor processes and tech integration.
* Risk, Governance and Compliance
o Maintain register of vendor risks, issues, remediation actions.
o Support regulatory reporting, internal audits, board/committee papers.
o Ensure contractual terms, panel structures, remuneration models comply.
o Escalate material risks or underperformance.


Personal Specification


Education and Qualifications

* Degree in any discipline (preferred but not essential).


Knowledge & Experience

* 5+ years experience in governance, internal controls, audit, risk management or compliance.
* Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory frameworks & governance best practices.
* Proven experience managing third‑party service providers in insurance claims.
* Strong knowledge of PRA, FCA, Lloyd’s Oversight Principles, Solvency II, Outsourcing & Third‑Party Risk Management.
* Excellent vendor management, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
* Analytical ability to produce MI, dashboards, performance reports.
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive improvement.
* Experience within formal governance structures and assurance frameworks.

* Multilingual ability preferred: Spanish, French, German.
* Adaptability to changing regulations and business environments.
