Offer description

Looking for a role where you can make a real and lasting difference in a child’s life? As a full-time Children’s Residential Worker, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive and nurturing home environment for children and young people in our care.

You’ll be based primarily at Rockwood, but will also support at Mount Pleasant, our other residential home in North Ayrshire. Don’t worry – travel time and mileage between the houses is covered, so you’ll be supported to move between homes when needed.

What the role involves:
✨ Helping young people feel safe, supported and valued – even on their trickiest days.
✨ Creating a home-from-home where children can laugh, grow, and thrive.
✨ Planning and taking part in everyday routines and joyful activities – from baking cakes to kicking a ball about.
✨ Building trusted relationships, offering guidance, and being someone they can truly rely on.
✨ Bringing energy and warmth – because being able to play, engage and have fun is just as important as anything else.

We’re looking for someone who:
💖 Is caring, dependable, and calm under pressure.
🧩 Can adapt to the needs of the day and meet children where they are.
👂 Is a great listener with a compassionate heart.
📚 Has experience working with children or young people – or is keen to learn with full training provided.
🚗 Holds a full manual driving licence – travel is required and part of the role.

What you’ll get in return:
🌈 A truly rewarding role with variety, meaning, and a real sense of purpose.
💼 Excellent training and development opportunities – we’ll support you every step of the way.
🎉 A friendly, welcoming team who work closely together across both houses.
🛣️ Paid travel time and mileage between Rockwood and Mount Pleasant when supporting across both locations.

Your working pattern:
This is a full-time role following a rolling rota of early (7am–3pm), late (2pm–10pm), and sleepover shifts. You’ll usually work one sleepover per week (11pm–7am), and flexibility to work across both homes will be essential.

Ready to take the next step in your care career?
Apply now and join our dedicated team supporting children and young people in North Ayrshire. Because every child deserves someone who believes in them – and that someone could be you.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.
