We’re working with a warm and inclusive Catholic school in the heart of Newcastle, where every child is known, valued, and supported. They’re looking for a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their brilliant team and help children thrive: academically, emotionally, and socially.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties, both one-to-one and in small groups.
* Helping children manage transitions, emotions, and social interactions.
* Working closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external specialists to adapt activities and create tailored resources.
* Using sensory tools, visual timetables, and positive reinforcement to help children feel calm and confident.
* Encouraging independence and celebrating progress.
* Taking part in staff training and accessing free CPD through our Protocol Education Academy to keep growing your skills.
Who You Are
* A patient, empathetic person who genuinely wants to make a difference.
* Someone with experience supporting children with SEND, either in school, youth work, or care settings.
* You’re confident communicating with both children and adults.
* You understand that every day is different.
* You’re Thrive trained, or you’d love to complete our free online Thrive course to boost your impact in the classroom.
