Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT)
Staff nurse
Posted: 26 June
Offer description

We are excited to advertise our Staff Nurse post for our Recovery ward, Oak 4, based in Peterborough at the Edith Cavell site. The Cavell is an accessible site, with an on-site café, and features a modern design with new wards.

At CPFT, our adult inpatient wards operate an innovative care model known as the 3-3-3 model, focused on providing the right care at the right time. The three wards work together to deliver optimal care and support: Oak 3, our Acute Assessment Unit, where patients stay up to 3 days; Oak 1, our Treatment ward, where patients stay up to 3 weeks; and Oak 4, our Recovery Unit, where patients stay up to 3 months.

We seek a charismatic, energetic, and enthusiastic staff nurse to support evidence-based treatment and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to aid our service users in their recovery. On our Recovery ward, we care for the local population experiencing serious mental illness.

Oak 4 emphasizes recovery and community reintegration by providing an environment where individuals can continue working towards their goals established during hospitalization. We work closely with social care and offer increased assessment and support for accessing housing and support packages.

The ward's innovative model requires staff to demonstrate teamwork, accountability, and the ability to work well under pressure.

If successful, we will support you in delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for service users with mental and physical health needs. As a staff nurse, you will frequently interact with carers and families, providing support and advice as appropriate.

You will be a vital part of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for supporting and leading assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care on a rotational shift basis. A good understanding of local and national policies and legislation governing service provision is expected.

You should also identify and contribute to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff, ensuring issues of equality, diversity, and rights are addressed in accordance with good practice and legislation.

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to improve the health and wellbeing of the people we serve, supporting and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

Our clinical teams deliver NHS services across inpatient, primary care, and community settings, including mental and physical health services for children, adults, and older people; forensic and specialist mental health; learning disabilities; primary care and liaison psychiatry; substance misuse; social care; and research & development.

We aim to recruit high-caliber candidates who share our vision and values. As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from all community sectors, particularly underrepresented groups, including disabled people, ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ+ communities.

For further details or informal visits, contact: Hannah Morrow, Ward Manager, at Hannah.Morrow@cpft.nhs.uk or call 01733 776055, available Tuesday to Friday, 10:00-16:00.
