You are a Site Quantity Surveyor from in and around the Kerry region looking to work on a landmark €350 million pharmaceutical development. It’s a complex, high-value build for a global pharma client, and you will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a strong grasp of commercial management on large-scale projects. You'll be the commercial lead on site, managing everything from cost tracking and subcontractor payments to reporting, procurement input, and change control. You’ll be working closely with both site and commercial teams to make sure everything stacks up, commercially and contractually. For those eager to learn more about this exciting opportunity, please do not hesitate to reach out to Stephen at stephen@breaghrecruitment.com / 015314345 Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Skills: 3–5 years experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with large-scale industrial/pharma projects Proven background in managing subcontractor accounts and variations. Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts (RIAI, NEC, JCT, etc.). Excellent commercial and cost control instincts. Proficiency in Excel and relevant cost tools. Confident communicator, comfortable negotiating and presenting commercial positions. Self-starter with strong attention to detail. Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. As a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor: Review and certify subcontractor payment applications across core packages (e.g., insulation, cladding). Price, negotiate, and agree subcontractor variations, reworks, and claims. Manage dayworks and star rates in line with contractual terms. Track and cost all site instructions accurately. Identify, log, and support pricing of all project variations. Assist with interim valuations and preparation of final accounts. Support detailed cost tracking and analysis of site activity. Contribute to monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget updates. Liaise with commercial and project teams to ensure financial alignment. Flag potential risks and identify commercial opportunities early. Assist in procuring subcontract packages and drafting commercial documentation. Monitor scope changes and address any commercial impact. Ensure compliance with contract terms and internal procedures. Work closely with the site team to monitor progress and assess cost impacts. Attend site meetings and provide input on commercial strategy. Maintain clear and accurate commercial documentation. Ensure high standards of compliance and governance across all responsibilities. The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €80,000 plus package.
