Are you looking to work within a friendly, dynamic team within the community outpatient healthcare environment? Are you interested in supporting the rehabilitation of patients with respiratory disease to enable them to better manage their symptoms and build their independence?
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual with previous experience in rehabilitation and exercise provision to join our dedicated Pulmonary Rehabilitation Physiotherapy team. The post is based across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.
Responsibilities
This role involves delivering a range of therapeutic interventions, supervised exercise sessions and class‑based pulmonary rehabilitation programmes for patients with chronic respiratory conditions. You will:
* Deliver therapy, supervised exercise sessions and class‑based pulmonary rehabilitation programmes.
* Provide exercise provision, progression and adaptation for individuals with physical limitations.
* Recognise and support the physical limitations and functional problems associated with long‑term respiratory disease, contributing to early assessment and ongoing rehabilitation.
* Support patients who may be breathless, deconditioned or anxious about exercise, engaging them safely and effectively.
* Develop effective working relationships with the multidisciplinary team across acute and community settings.
Due to the level of responsibility and clinical experience required, this post is not a developmental role and is not suitable for a Band 2 Clinical Support Worker. Applicants should be able to demonstrate relevant previous experience in rehabilitation settings and supervised exercise delivery.
Working Pattern
22.5 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 08:15–16:30 (flexibility on working days may be requested with adequate notice).

Preference will be given to staff with Priority and “At Risk” status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
