We are seeking a committed and compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly, well established village practice in Painswick, Stroud. This part time role offers 2 sessions per week on a 6 month fixed-term contract, ideally on Monday morning and Friday morning (with limited flexibility). It is an excellent opportunity for a GP who values continuity of care and enjoys working within a close knit rural community. You will be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and a practice culture that prioritises learning, collaboration, and work life balance.
Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP at Painswick Surgery, your responsibilities will include:
Clinical Care
Providing high quality, patient centred consultations (face to face, telephone, and online)
Managing acute, chronic, and long term conditions in line with best practice and clinical guidelines
Undertaking home visits when clinically appropriate
Supporting continuity of care for our patient population
Clinical Governance & Quality
Contributing to QOF, enhanced services, and other quality improvement activity
Participating in clinical meetings, MDT discussions, and case reviews
Maintaining accurate, timely clinical records using TPP SystmOne
Working closely with GPs, nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, and administrative colleagues
Supporting the training and development of learners within the practice
Contributing to a positive, supportive team culture
Professional Responsibilities
Maintaining GMC registration and revalidation requirements
Participating in CPD, audit, and reflective practice
Upholding practice policies, safeguarding responsibilities, and clinical governance standards

Provide consultations, assessments, diagnoses, and management plans for patients
Manage acute presentations, chronic disease reviews, and longterm conditions
Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with national and local guidance
Undertake home visits when required
Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues as appropriate
Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
Team & Practice Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the practice team to deliver safe, effective care
Participate in MDT meetings, clinical discussions, and case reviews
Support the training and supervision of learners where appropriate
Contribute to practice audits, QOF achievement, and enhanced services
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain GMC registration, appraisal, and revalidation
Engage in CPD and reflective practice

Knowledge and Skills
* GMC registered GP with a valid NHS Performers Number
* Commitment to high quality, patient centred care
* Ability to work effectively within a small, supportive team
* Strong communication and clinical decisionmaking skills
* Professional, reliable, and compassionate approach
* Experience with TPP SystmOne
* Experience in a rural or community focused practice
* Interest in teaching, training, or quality improvement
* Good basic IT skills
