Are you a strategic and compassionate leader with a passion for student welfare and inclusion? DN Colleges Group is seeking a dedicated Director of Student Support to lead our Safeguarding, Wellbeing, Counselling and SEND services. This is a pivotal role in shaping the student experience and ensuring every learner receives the support they need to thrive.
About the Role
As Director of Student Support, you will be the College’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENDCO, providing strategic leadership across student support services. You will work closely with senior leaders, external agencies, and stakeholders to ensure our provision is inclusive, responsive, and aligned with national priorities. Your leadership will help drive improvements in student wellbeing, achievement, and progression.
Essential Criteria
1. Degree or equivalent in SEND, Safeguarding, Counselling, Social Work or a related subject.
2. Proven experience of strategic leadership in an educational setting, with measurable impact.
3. Strong knowledge and experience in Safeguarding and SEND provision.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and data analysis skills.
5. Demonstrable experience of managing teams, budgets, and cross-college initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
6. Lead and manage Safeguarding, Wellbeing, Counselling and SEND teams across the College.
7. Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and strategic lead for mental health and wellbeing.
8. Oversee the development and implementation of SEND policy and provision.
9. Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, including the Equality Act and Ofsted requirements.
10. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance student support services.
11. Manage budgets, staff development, and performance reviews within the department.
12. Contribute to strategic planning, self-assessment, and quality improvement processes.
13. Represent the College at local authority and partnership meetings.

Let’s Teach The LET’s teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.
Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
