Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting for Education, Health & Care Plan Officer (EHCP) positions, Band E/F, with salaries ranging from £37,035 to £49,764 per annum.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Solihull’s expanding Education, Health and Care Plan Team. Due to increased investment, we are hiring additional EHCP Officers, with roles available as:
1. Full-time (37 hours/week), Permanent
2. Full-time (37 hours/week), 12-month Fixed Term Contract (external funding), with consideration for internal secondments

We seek professionals experienced in special educational needs, eager for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include managing caseloads, collating information from partner services, and supporting children and young people with EHCPs, in line with legal duties and working processes.
You will engage effectively with parents, young people, and schools, ensuring support and co-production principles are upheld throughout the EHCP journey.
Minimum requirements include:
* A relevant professional qualification (Teaching, Psychology, Child Care, Social Work) or substantial experience in an educational or SEND-related role.
* Ability to make accurate, reasoned decisions under pressure, aligned with legal duties.
* Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and statutory processes.
* Experience in assessments, support planning, and reviews with a child-centered approach.
* Strong analytical skills for writing EHC Plans.
This rewarding role requires managing multiple workflows, prioritizing tasks, and communicating effectively with stakeholders to facilitate positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
The role offers hybrid working: office-based 3 days a week (Monday-Wednesday) with options for remote work on Thursday and Friday.
