The Northwest Trunk Road Unit covers approximately 1,422 km of trunk roads across scenic parts of Scotland, from Thurso and Wick in the north to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, and from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling.
We are seeking an Inspection Team Lead to join our operations team in Inverness. The Road Asset Inspectors are responsible for recording defects that pose hazards to the public.
Role Includes
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
* Manage daily activities of Inspectors and operations in AMPS.
* Ensure inspections are completed on time and according to the inspection program and manual.
* Review inspection data for accuracy and compliance.
* Coordinate with the AMPS team to resolve issues.
* Respond to Hazard Notices and Observations from inspections.
* Perform other duties as directed by the Asset Manager.
* Flexibility for travel and occasional overnight stays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Full driving license is essential.
* Experience in road maintenance is desirable; training will be provided.
* Attention to detail.
* Good computer skills, especially with Transport Scotland's Asset Management Performance System.
* Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and solve problems.
