Senior Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiography)

The postholder will provide support to the echocardiography service across both hospital sites, working alongside other physiologists to ensure delivery of a quality clinical service. They will be trained and able to undertake, supervise, and teach at a high level TTEs. They will assist with TOE, Bubble Studies, and Stress Echoes. They will maintain a progressive learning environment within non-invasive cardiology ensuring the development of all members of the department. They will work within a 7‑day echo service, working weekends on a rotational basis. They will be working towards BSE accreditation.
Job Responsibilities
Refer to the full responsibilities listed in the original description, including participation in the provision of the full, technical echo service, prioritisation of daily workload, maintenance of technical competency, liaison with ward/medical staff, management of equipment and stock, fault identification and resolution, interpretation and reporting of studies, emergency response, research assistance, staff training and mentoring, management duties, development of protocols and policies, compliance with national standards, use of computerised systems, communication with suppliers and patients, clerical duties, maintenance of department cleanliness, and other reasonable duties as directed by Management.

Qualifications & Experience
* BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology or equivalent
* Able to perform and report upon unsupervised TTEs in line with BSE standards
* Sound knowledge of normal/abnormal values within echocardiography
* Working towards BSE accreditation or equivalent
* Immediate Life Support
* Assist with stress echoes, bubble studies, TOE
Knowledge & Skills
* Extensive knowledge of physiological investigations
* Specialist knowledge in echocardiography techniques
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to work cross‑site
* Staff teaching/mentoring
* Ability to work extended working hours
