Hays Education are currently working in partnership with a weing and well-regarded primary school in the Preston area to recruit a dedicated Year 1 Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive schoolmunity that places children at the heart of everything it does. Your new role
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons that support pupils transitioning from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. You will foster a stimulating classroom environment that nurtures curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons aligned with the national curriculum
2. Assessing and tracking pupil progress to ensure all learners reach their full potential
3. Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
4. Supporting phonics development and early literacy skills
5. Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will:
6. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
7. Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (Year 1 experience desirable but not essential)
8. Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
9. Showmitment to delivering high standards of teaching and learning
10. Have a good understanding of phonics (, Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds, or similar)
11. Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and passionate about primary education
