We have an exciting opening for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the team in an integrated rehabilitation and urgent care pathway across the community services in HOSM. The HOSM-SAS Cluster incorporates Seaton, Axminster, Sidmouth (SAS), Honiton, and Ottery St Mary (HOSM). It offers a mix of rural villages and coastal towns, only 30 minutes from Exeter and market towns like Honiton and Axminster with excellent rail links. The area is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, ideal for coastal walks, fishing harbours, and beaches. The location, flexible working options, and free parking support a healthy work-life balance.
We seek an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team in an integrated rehabilitation and urgent care pathway across community services in HOSM. You will be supported and encouraged to develop your skills continually. We support CPD and provide opportunities to spend time with specialists. Flexibility in working patterns and true autonomy are offered. You will work alongside experienced Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Rehab Nurses, and Support Workers.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in community rehabilitation, multidisciplinary working, and managing patients with long-term conditions, including neurological, orthopaedic, dementia, and falls prevention. The focus is on maximising independence and quality of life through assessment, rehabilitation, hospital admission prevention, and discharge support. A car and valid driving licence are required.
Working pattern: 37.5 hours weekly, standard hours 8:30-16:30, Monday to Friday. You'll also work with the Urgent Community Response Team on the Ageing Well rota, shifts over seven days, 08:00-20:00 on a rota. Interested in full or part-time?
