Overview
We are looking to appoint a friendly, caring early years qualified practitioner to the role of Meal Time Assistant. This role is required to support our growing lunch club for our two, three and four year olds at Ham Drive Nursery School and Day Care. A minimum of an Early Years level 2 qualification is essential. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing young children with a safe and structured mealtime where they can eat and play with their friends happily. They will also have the ability to form positive relationships with young children quickly. They will provide support and encouragement to the children to eat their packed lunch and interact calmly and amicably with their peers. This post is a permanent position. Working hours will be 11.35am - 12.35pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only. Responsibilities
* Provide a safe and structured mealtime environment for two, three and four year olds during lunch club.
* Support and encourage children to eat their packed lunch.
* Interact calmly and amicably with peers to promote positive social interaction.
* Support children in forming positive relationships with their peers.
* Assist with the supervision and care of children during lunch time.
* Maintain safeguarding and welfare standards as part of daily duties.
Qualifications
* A minimum of an Early Years level 2 qualification is essential.
Working pattern
* Permanent position.
* 11.35am - 12.35pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

* Safeguarding is a very important aspect of Ham Drive Nursery School and Day Care. All applicants will be expected to have a full DBS check and disclose any issues which may be relevant to them working in a nursery.
* Our safeguarding policy follows the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. Offers of employment may be subject to checks including: childcare disqualification, DBS, medical, online and social media prohibition from teaching, right to work, satisfactory references, and suitability to work with children.
