The Team You Will Join
This Head of Propositions role leads the Propositions team within the UK Product, Data and Underwriting function, supporting the Individual Protection (IP) and Employee Benefits (EB) business lines. The role involves delivering the UK propositions roadmap from ideation to market delivery.
The Opportunity
The Head of Propositions will develop and maintain market-leading Value Propositions for IP and EB, in partnership with Distribution and Marketing, overseeing the go-to-market strategy. Responsibilities include managing relationships with external service providers, benchmarking against market developments, collaborating across functions, and representing the company in media and industry forums. The role also involves technical support, leadership, and people development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain market-leading propositions.
2. Define the strategic role and value of each proposition.
3. Design customer research to identify needs and aspirations.
4. Innovate considering market developments and competitors.
5. Propose a roadmap for proposition development.
6. Justify propositions fair value to stakeholders.
7. Manage relationships with external service providers and benchmark against market options.
8. Monitor and measure the performance of service providers and customer outcomes.
9. Negotiate with external providers to ensure competitive fees and quality service.
10. Ensure propositions meet regulatory requirements and demonstrate fair value.
11. Review product literature and terms for appropriateness.
12. Monitor competitor activities and turn insights into actions.
13. Collaborate with various internal teams and external distributors.
14. Lead and develop team members, promoting further education and qualifications.
15. Establish and maintain media presence and industry reputation.
16. Work with Marketing and Communications on corporate messaging.
17. Handle technical queries related to propositions, products, and services.
18. Ensure compliance with regulatory changes and address information requests.
19. Develop and manage product literature, mapping products to terms and conditions.
20. Provide technical training to sales and other stakeholders.
21. Draft tests for sales prior to product launches.

Additional Skills
* Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (preferred).
