Brighton Met College is seeking a dedicated 14-16 Coordinator to support our partnership programmes with local schools. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about student welfare and education to make a real difference in young people's learning experience.
Working one day per week on Fridays, you will play a vital role in ensuring our 14-16 students have a safe, engaging and valuable experience during their time at the college.
Key Responsibilities
• Student Welfare & Attendance: Check in with student groups at the start of each day to ensure wellbeing and readiness to learn
• Communication & Liaison: Contact partner schools and parents/carers to report student absences and maintain clear communication channels
• Safeguarding & Support: Work closely with the teaching team to ensure all students have a safe and valuable learning experience on site
• Recruitment Support: Assist with student interviews and support the application process for prospective 14-16 students
• Management Liaison: Work collaboratively with the Teaching and Learning Manager to ensure programme effectiveness and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
• Experience working with young people aged 14-16
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and student welfare
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and school partners
• Professional telephone manner for parent and school contact
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills
