Job Title: Mechanical Workshop Fitters/Machinists
Job Description:
Our client, a large scale and well-established manufacturing company in the South East Manchester/Cheshire area, is seeking Mechanical Workshop Fitters/Machinists to work in their Finishing Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading engineering drawings and performing tasks such as drilling, marking out, tapping, and deburring.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Read engineering drawings and accurately measure and mark out positions to be machined.
2. Utilize a variety of machines including powered and non-powered hand tools.
3. Inspect machined parts geometrically and visually to ensure compliance with quality standards specified in the engineering drawings.
4. Perform tasks such as using pillar drills, mark out, tapping, and marking out.
General Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
1. Adhere to all company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
2. Complete allocated work to the company-approved quality standard.
3. Follow all departmental agreed procedures and tasks.
4. Wear all required PPE as instructed by company guidelines.
5. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained working area and equipment.
6. Collaborate with leadership on production efficiencies to ensure on-time delivery.
Abilities Required:
1. Ability to stand for extended periods.
2. Experience working with various materials such as Stainless Steels, Aluminium, and Acetals.
3. Capability to handle materials or parts from the ground.
4. Flexibility to lean, reach, and stretch as needed.
5. Proficiency in working with cutting fluids like coolant, grease, and oil.
6. Adeptness in using vibrating hand tools.
