Overview
Metalworking Production Operator - 1st Shift. Industrial Manufacturing Services (IMS), now part of Kloeckner Metals Corporation, is looking for a Metalworking Production Operator to work 1st Shift. This position includes operation of various metalworking machinery (e.g., press brakes, mills, lathes, saws, grinder, etc.) for fabricating high precision parts.

Responsibilities
* Operation of metalworking machinery for forming, bending, turning, milling and/or cutting steel.
* General labor for loading and unloading machines and deburring/grinding for manual weld spatter removal
* Perform routine operations including loading raw material and start-up/shut down of equipment
* Monitor machine performance regarding accuracy of quantity and quality output, making adjustments as needed
* Perform basic preventative and routine machine maintenance
* Manual assembly of product with use of manual and powered tools
* Proper stacking and protection of parts as required to maintain specified quality standard
* Ensure accuracy of parts produced by visual inspection and/or by use of standard inspection instruments (i.e., micrometers, calipers, etc.)
* Submit first and last piece production for Quality Control approval
* Enter data on production reports regarding shop orders worked on, quantity produced, time worked, etc.
* Follow and verify all instruction provided by work orders and customer blueprints
* Notify supervision of problems with equipment and/or tooling that may cause defects/lost time
* Comply with all safety practices and Company policies
* Perform basic housekeeping duties
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Ability to accurately read blueprints, is a plus
* Prior metalworking, construction, or mechanical trade experience, is ideal
* Able to pass background check
* Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
