Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Fleet Supervisor to join the team at our Wallasey workshop facility.
The NWAS Fleet Supervisor manages, supervises and controls the day‑to‑day running of the fleet workshop and staff including vehicle technicians, apprentices, fleet drivers and workshop assistants. Key responsibilities include workshop loading, workflow, and logistic efficiency.
The role ensures reduced downtime on all Trust vehicles (Petrol / Diesel / Hybrid and EV) during service, repair and planned maintenance while meeting the Trust and DVSAs exacting standards.
It also encompasses staff training, performance reviews and compliance with Health and Safety regulations. A recognised apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience, NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualifications, a Diploma or Certificate in vehicle workshop management or evidence of supervisory experience, and a full UK driving licence (category C1) are required.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage the day‑to‑day operation of the fleet workshop and its staff.
* Plan and coordinate workshop loading, workflow and logistics to maximise vehicle throughput.
* Ensure all Trust vehicles receive timely service, repair and planned maintenance.
* Implement and enforce health and safety, regulatory and legislative requirements.
* Conduct staff training, performance appraisal and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Oversee shift patterns and manage unsocial hours payment arrangements.
* Maintain accurate records, budgets and reporting for the fleet.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 Mechanics and Technicians certificate in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds).
* Diploma or Certificate in vehicle workshop management, general management or evidence of supervisory experience.
* Full UK driving licence, C1 (plus D1 or progress towards it).
