Anderson Knight is currently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Assistant on behalf of a well-established and highly reputable organisation based in Ayrshire. Our client operates internationally and supports customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, offering innovative solutions within regulated and quality-driven sectors. The salary on offer for this role is between £28-30,000 and is fully office based.
This role will sit within a collaborative finance team and will report directly to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, providing comprehensive support across sales ledger, credit control and cashbook activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with all aspects of credit control, including customer contact, credit limit reviews and maintenance of new customer documentation
* Monitoring and reviewing the aged debtor ledger, producing monthly statements and updating customer hold lists
* Liaising with overseas customer service teams to resolve overdue invoices
* Setting up new customer accounts and allocating appropriate credit limits
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date sales ledger records
* Resolving invoice queries and disputes in a timely and professional manner
* Posting and reconciling cashbook transactions
* Managing weekly cheque deposits and promoting BACS payments to customers
* Supporting general office duties including answering telephone calls and assisting visitors
About You
* Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger role
* Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
* Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Experience with Sage and/or SAP would be advantageous, though training will be provided
* A relevant finance or accounting qualification is desirable but not essential
