Job Description Electrical Project Manager – Substation Project Location: Scotland Sector: Power & Energy Infrastructure We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile substation project within Scotland’s growing power transmission network. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in strengthening the nation’s energy infrastructure and supporting the transition to a greener, more sustainable future. Role Overview: As Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful execution of all electrical works associated with the substation project. You’ll manage project teams, liaise with key stakeholders, and ensure that safety, quality, and programme objectives are met or exceeded. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the substation project, from design through to commissioning. Oversee electrical installation works, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and safety regulations. Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to deliver on time and within scope. Coordinate with engineers, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols. Report progress to senior management and client representatives. Requirements: Proven experience managing electrical infrastructure projects, ideally within the power transmission/distribution sector. Strong knowledge of 132kV substations, HV equipment, and grid connection requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Relevant engineering qualification (Electrical or Power Engineering preferred). Strong commitment to safety and quality.
