Job Description
Payment Performance· Monitor and proactively drive improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs) including, payment performance, touchless ratios and discrepancies.· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline AP workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy.· Act as escalation point for supplier issues, ensuring queries are resolved promptly and root causes are addressed.· Maintain strong communication with key suppliers to build trust and reliability in the payment process.· Lead initiatives to improve supplier experience, such as reducing delayed payments or invoice disputes.Leadership and Team Development· Lead, coach and motivate a high‑performing AP team, setting clear expectations for service delivery.· Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews to support development.· Foster a collaborative culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and strong communication.Month-end· Lead the AP month-end financial close, ensuring compliance with all reporting deadlines, and contributing to the 18-month cashflow forecast.Stakeholder Engagement· Work closely with Procurement, Finance Operations, and the wider business functions to ensure alignment on purchasing processes and compliance.· Provide accurate reporting and insights to senior finance leaders on payment performance and improvement actions.
The Successful Applicant
Essential:· Strong AP background with experienced in a similar role, including experience in:o People management, including mentoring and developingo Month-end procedures, adhering to reporting deadlineso Journal postings· Attention to detail with a proactive approach to tasks· A genuine team player· Excellent time management and ability to prioritise· Ability to communicate with colleagues across the businessDesirable:· Understanding of accounting principles· Proficient in Excel· Experienced in the use of ERP systems
