An exciting opportunity has arisen for a health care support worker to join the North East Fife locality District Nursing Team (Ladybank/Newburgh base).
You must have excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player with a genuine interest in community work. Previous community experience and phlebotomy skills are advantageous. Patients are seen at home and in care homes to deliver high-quality nursing care.
The team focuses on preventing unnecessary hospital admissions, supporting early discharge, and enabling patients to remain independent at home. You will support the District Nursing Team in delivering evidence-based treatment and care to housebound patients.
Applicants should have relevant knowledge and experience; an SVQ is desirable. The service offers supervision and training opportunities.
You must be willing to travel across the Fife division and provide evening cover as needed. The role involves working within a 24/7 community nursing service, including weekends and public holidays.
For informal enquiries, contact Ann Beaton at 07814 419485 or Ann.Beaton@nhs.scot, or Donna Sneddon (Team Lead) at 07748 761045 or donna.sneddon@nhs.scot.
Note: Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, the criminal records check requirements may change. If the role is classified as 'regulated,' appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Further details are available at Disclosure Scotland Changes.
NHS Fife is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We welcome applications from all sections of society and support flexible working, family-friendly policies, and reasonable adjustments for disabled, long-term conditions, or neurodivergent candidates.
