Aims of Job / Job Purpose
The role of a Main Grade Lecturer at South Birmingham College is to support the College's aims, objectives and mission statement to provide high quality education and training in response to local need.
Responsibilities
* Teach across the core curriculum: GCSE English to 16-18 and adult students, and Study Skills to Access students.
* Deliver personalised learning programmes for groups – planning, teaching and monitoring the progress of the students.
* Support the teaching of additional subjects at GCSE level where possible.
* Provide detailed references and be prepared to give feedback as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Teaching qualification suitable for the required subjects.
* Demonstrated experience teaching GCSE level and/or adult learners.
* Strong knowledge of study skills and ability to deliver them to Access students.
* Fluent spoken and written English – essential for part of role.
* Ability to provide a minimum of two suitable references covering a 5-year period.
* Subject to enhanced DBS, prohibition check, childcare disqualification where applicable, and other necessary pre-employment checks.
