Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Support school events, enrichment activities, and extra-curricular opportunities Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing Work collaboratively as part of a professional, supportive team The school is located in Hemel Hempstead, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
