The Test Technician is responsible for maintaining, adjusting, setting up, and testing products to ensure high standards of quality before re-hire or installation. The primary focus is on preparing hire cooling equipment and ancillaries (pumps, heat exchangers). The goal is to maximize productivity, enhance customer experience, and improve operational processes. This role is based in Totton, SO40 area.
Customer and Technical Skills:
1. Ability to diagnose system problems during servicing and testing.
2. Collaborate effectively with hire and service desks, Sales, and Operations teams to share customer insights.
3. Utilize advanced software, diagnostic tools, and hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units.
4. Implement modifications based on specific customer requirements.
5. Communicate with supervisors, regional managers, senior technicians, and customers regarding updates and continuous improvement initiatives.
Internal Controls and Administration:
1. Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
2. Effective communication skills.
3. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
4. Proficiency in using applications, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities:
1. Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
2. Strong people and communication skills with a positive mindset.
3. Relevant skilled-based certificates, with F-Gas certification advantageous.
4. Gas Safe certification is advantageous.
5. Availability to cover depot standby and call-outs, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
6. Forklift driving certification is advantageous.
7. UK Driver’s license, as a company vehicle will be provided.
