Apprentice Electrical Installation – Heathrow Airport
The Heathrow Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the UK’s most exciting apprenticeship programmes. The scheme provides career‑changing opportunities for residents close to the airport.
Responsibilities
* Install, verify, maintain and test low‑voltage electrical and electronic equipment (up to 1000 V AC/1500 V DC).
* Work on maintenance of electrical and electronic installations including automated production systems.
* Contribute to the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of products, equipment and processes of electric systems or services.
* Comply with safety and environmental regulations, building codes and industry standards including BS 7671.
* Conduct maintenance, inspections and condition reporting for existing electrical systems.
* Install wired and wireless solutions, ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and assessing electrical loads.
* Install mains‑powered life‑safety systems in industrial, commercial and residential settings.
* Install electrical connections for heating and cooling systems.
* Communicate and collaborate with project teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders, ensuring data security.
Typical working week: 40 hours per week, starting between 07:00 and 08:00, including 8 paid hours at college.

Qualifications
* English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 or above.
* Completed a Level 2 Electrical Installation Diploma.
* Desirable: Previous related work experience and a CSCS/ECS card.
Training and Duration
You will be enrolled in a Level 3 Installation/Maintenance Electrician course and your qualifications will be funded through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship duration is 48 months, depending on your previous qualifications.
Eligibility
* Living in England for the last 3 years and having right to work status.
* Not enrolled on any other courses.
* 18+ years of age due to site health and safety rules.
* Residing in one of the following regions: Hillingdon, Hounslow, Ealing, Spelthorne, Windsor & Maidenhead, South Buckinghamshire, Elmbridge, Slough, Runnymede.
