We are a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Greenwich, seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Behaviour Nursery Teaching Assistant who has a strong background in supporting Nursery-aged children with behavioural challenges and SEMH needs. As a school, we are committed to early intervention, consistent routines, and nurturing positive behaviour from the very start of a child’s educational journey.
The Role
As a Behaviour Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Provide 1:1 and small-group support for Nursery pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs
2. Support children with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
3. Work closely with the Nursery teacher, SENCo, and pastoral team
4. Implement behaviour support strategies, routines, and individual plans
5. Support learning through play-based EYFS provision
6. Help create a calm, safe, and structured Nursery environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Behaviour Nursery Teaching Assistant who:
7. Has experience working with Nursery-aged children
8. Has proven experience supporting children with behavioural and SEMH needs
9. Is calm, patient, resilient, and nurturing in their approach
10. Understands early years development and attachment-aware practice
11. Has ABA, behaviour mentor, or similar behaviour-focused experience (desirable)
12. Can work effectively as part of a collaborative school team
