The Role Under supervision, a practicing healthcare professional who assists Audiologists in a range of patient care and clinical duties, both adult and paediatric patients. Offers telephone advice to patients. Carries out routine tasks in hearing aid repair clinics, including hearing aid provision, taking ear mould impressions and adaptations within departmental protocols. Provides auxiliary support to Paediatric ENT clinics, including setting up and organising the clinic rooms. Assesses and monitors patient reactions during testing at Paediatric Audiology clinics. Provides Administrative support within the Audiology Department. Provides Domicillary support in the community, within departmental protocols. What we'll need you to bring SVQ 111 in health or social care or equivalent experience. Knowledge and understanding of clinical aspects of Audiology service. The post-holder will be provided with a practical training programme. An ability to work unsupervised and also as part of a team. To have an understanding of local service protocols and to work within defined parameters. Continue to undertake study/training opportunities that will assist in providing a high standard of care in the profession and to maintain a professional C.P.D. portfolio. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good understanding of the need for confidentiality and patient privacy. Flexible, enthusiastic and well organised. To have IT skills and be familiar with Word, Excel. Car driver with the ability to travel throughout NHS Lanarkshire.
