Be part of shaping the future of Public Safety in Brent
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here. The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The Post
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established team at a pivotal moment in Brent’s transformation of its Public Safety CCTV and SCIL programmes.
As CCTV Project Support Officer (SCIL), you will provide advanced technical and project support to the borough’s Public Safety CCTV service and the Strategic Community Infrastructure Levy (SCIL) CCTV programme. You’ll play a key role in coordinating installations, tracking project progress, supporting contractor management, maintaining accurate records and documentation, and progressing allocated workstreams to ensure delivery to scope, time and quality.
You’ll also help shape the future direction of the service supporting innovation pilots that explore and support the roll out of AI enabled analytics equipment, contributing to the development of our borough wide CCTV Policy, and ensuring our infrastructure aligns with Brent’s wider smart city ambitions. This is a creative, forward looking role where you’ll influence how emerging technology, intelligent systems and modern workflows are embedded into Brent’s CCTV operations.
The Person
We are looking for a proactive, organised and technically confident team player who thrives in a fast‑paced project environment. You will bring strong communication skills, the ability to engage effectively with contractors, senior managers, councillors and external partners, and confidence in handling sensitive or complex information with discretion and professionalism.
The successful candidate will be flexible and adaptable, comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast‑moving environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy. You will bring a creative, solutions‑focused approach to challenges, using initiative to explore new ideas and refine existing ways of working. You’ll be proactive in analysing data, tracking risks and issues, and supporting robust administrative, governance and financial processes. Most importantly, you’ll have the enthusiasm to learn, develop your technical and project‑delivery skills, and grow within the role as the service evolves.
Why join us?
We know people achieve their best when they feed valued. At Brent, you’ll benefit from:
* Up to 33 days annual leave (depending on length of service) plus bank holidays
* Excellent pension with generous employer contributions (LGPS)
* Hybrid and flexible working options available for most roles
* Supportive family-friendly policies for parent, guardians, and carers
* Health and wellbeing support, including access to eye test support and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
* Financial support such as education sessions, childcare deposit loans, and season ticket loans
* Travel perks including affordable parking nearby, a Cycle to Work scheme, and great onsite facilities
