We are currently undergoing recruitment for an Senior Manufacturing Design to join our client in the Rhayader area.
* Monday – Friday
* £50,000 per annum
* Straight to permanent contract
Main roles and responsibilities:
* Develop and optimise powertrain systems, including internal combustion engines, electric motors, transmissions, and hybrid systems.
* Create detailed design specifications, CAD models, and technical drawings.
* Conduct simulations and physical testing to evaluate performance, durability, and compliance.
* Includes mentoring less experienced designers
* Analyse test data and implement design improvements.
* Manage powertrain projects from concept through to production.
* Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and quality assurance to ensure project milestones are met.
* Stay up to date with emerging technologies in automotive propulsion and powertrain efficiency.
* Innovate new solutions for energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and performance enhancement.
* Ensure designs comply with industry regulations and environmental standards.
* Document all engineering processes, changes, and design decisions.
Skills and requirements:
* Automotive/powertrain plus reading and analysing manufacturing drawings
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is highly beneficial
