Job Title : Commercial Client Accountant
Salary : £30k - £35k
Location : West End - London
Summary :
With around £2.5bn under management, we are representing one of the UK's leading commercial asset and property managers. Focussing largely on shopping centres and a portfolio across the UK, they have around a 90% occupancy rate.
They are looking for a Commercial Client Accountant to come and join their team. Ideally with 1-2 year's experience, you would be focussed on the below duties:
1. Assist in the preparation of client statements, VAT reports, trial balances, general ledgers and client reports
2. Action instructions from property accountants, which can include creation of new debtors with new leases, amending accounts etc.
3. Raising rent, service charges, insurance recharges or ad hoc charges to tenants
4. Raising of void/vacant units service charge liabilities for the client
5. Entering service charge budgets onto the system, updating apportionments and tenants on account charges
6. Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of annual service charge accounts as well as liaising with the service charge auditor for the audit
7. Payover to the client in line with agreed procedures as well as record transactions on the system
8. Monthly reconciliation of client bank accounts including investigation and correction of reconciling items
9. Processing of supplier's invoices and setting up payments in Barclays
10. Initiating payovers and other bank transfers
Required Skills & Experience :
11. Ability to work with the client accountants to find solutions to issues and improve processes.
12. Ability to set up lease records and process amendments to leases.
13. Ability to identify funds available for transfer to client and reconcile rent balance held.
14. Ability to produce accurate client statements on a timely basis.
15. Knowledge of how to input service charge budgets and amend apportionments and on account charges.
16. Knowledge of how to close service year ends and demand balancing service charges.
17. Ability to reconcile service charges and make the necessary amendments on the system.
18. Minimum 1-2 years commercial property accounting.
19. Preferably with experience focussed on shopping centres.
20. Experience working with property management software.
