Help bring people together and make every experience feel special
Our Events Staff play a vital role in supporting the smooth, professional running of everything from holiday camps and sports bookings to community fayres and private parties - and even the occasional circus
We're looking for friendly, reliable and proactive individuals to join our Events Team. Whether it's a Saturday night birthday party, a last-minute client request, or an evening sports booking, you'll be helping make it happen - safely, smoothly, and with a smile.
This is a hands-on, people-facing role. You'll be the go-to person on site during events, welcoming guests, managing spaces, setting up equipment, and making sure everything runs exactly as it should.
About the role
You'll work under the guidance of our Events Manager to support a wide variety of bookings outside of school hours - evenings, weekends, and during school holidays. You'll take responsibility for:
* Opening and closing key school facilities, including the sports complex, swimming pool and astro pitches
* Setting up and dismantling sports equipment, event furniture and resources
* Welcoming guests and clients on arrival, answering questions and providing excellent service
* Making sure all rooms and facilities are clean, safe and ready for use
* Managing lighting and facility schedules based on event requirements
* Supporting car parking, signage and general event flow
* Carrying out regular safety and security checks - and reporting any issues
* Providing First Aid cover when needed (training provided)
* Occasionally assisting with basic admin tasks or lost property
You'll bring:
* A friendly, can-do attitude and pride in delivering great service
* Confidence working independently, especially during lone working shifts
* A calm and capable approach when responding to questions or solving problems
* Good communication skills and a welcoming presence
* The physical ability to lift and move equipment, set up rooms and navigate a large campus
* A strong sense of responsibility, particularly around safety and security
Why Join Us:
Wellington is more than just a school - it's a community hub. You'll be part of a supportive and energetic team, trusted to take ownership and make a real impact. No two days are the same here, and the work you do helps create memorable experiences for everyone who visits.
We offer:
* £12.21 per hour
* Flexible casual hours, mostly evenings and weekends
* Full training provided
* Free on-site parking
* Access to wellbeing classes and sports facilities
* A supportive team environment and a strong sense of purpose in the work we do
You'll be joining at an exciting time, as our events calendar continues to grow - with everything from sports clubs, to Christmas parties, to weddings, community fairs, and holiday camps.
