Facilities Technician/ Mechanical Technician
Location: Manchester
Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per annum (DOE)

The Role:
• Carrying out hands-on' mechanical maintenance/ repairs on plant, processing equipment etc.
• Diagnosing mechanical faults, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions to minimise operational disruption.
• Supervising and performing high-risk maintenance tasks safely, including working at height, confined space, and electrical systems where relevant.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration, and equipment history.
• Implementing and contributing to maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
• Identifying process improvements to enhance equipment reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Providing technical support for plant and site-based projects, including installation, modification, and maintenance activities.
• Supervising contractors performing mechanical work, ensuring compliance with permit-to-work procedures.
• Undertaking any additional mechanical or plant-related work as directed by the Engineering Manager.
The Person:
• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or maintenance (or time served)
• Practical experience in fabrication and mechanical repairs
• Basic knowledge of electrical maintenance practices relevant to mechanical systems.
